1st Annual Badger Cup Competition

This is a special notice on an exciting event that has been in the planning  - - the details are finally available!

You are going to want to be part of history!   I can just see the headlines now - -

"Fox Cities/Green Bay Chapter takes home the Badger Cup in the
1st Annual Badger Cup Competition."

I would like to encourage all members to consider participating in this fun event.  Everything is handicapped, so it is a level playing field.  Everyone just plays their round and then the best scores are drawn from each Chapter - - so there is no pressure while on the course to compete directly with anyone.  By the way, did I mention that The Bull is one of the premier course in the country.  Normal greens fees for 18 holes are $145 - - so not only is it going to be a great, fun day - -but you can't beat the price of $95 for golf, cart, box lunch, prizes and fun! fun! fun! with lots of EWGA members from across the state!

Spots are limited and we want to have a great showing for our Chapter - - so call another member today and put together a 2-person scramble team and get signed up!   If you don't have someone to team up with, just contact Pam Fritz at pam.fritz@storaenso.com and she will keep track of all singles and get you paired up with someone from our Chapter so you can register!

For all the details and to register your two-person team, go to http://www.ewgamadison.org/pages/whatshappening_216.cfm

Do it TODAY!  Let's make history together!

Another Successful Chapter Championship

On Saturday, July 14, 2007 the weather held out for another great Chapter Championship.  The wind was fierce, but not as fierce as the competition.

Eleven of our members competed in our second Chapter Championship!  Three people participated in the individual competition and eight members hooked up to make two competitive scramble teams.  Our winners are…

  • Sarah Shircel, Championship Flight, 1st Place Low Gross
  • Laura Kennin, First Flight, 1st Place Low Gross
  • Cindy Sweetland, 4th Flight,  1st Place Low Gross
  • Bambi Seavers, JoAnn Bandholz, Eileen Wild, and Karen Alesch, 1st Place Scramble.

Please wish them luck, as they will be representing us in Illinois on August 18, 2007.

Our eight “Player’s Choice” event participants turned in some great shots and took home some great prizes.

Joining us this year were some 3 great competitors from the Fond du Lac Chapter.  FDL held their championship with us at our facility.  Their winners will be going head to head with our folks in Illinois.

As you know, a great event can never be held unless there are great people behind the scenes.  First off, a big thank you goes to Connie Zeuske, Chapter Championship Director.  Connie organized the entire event - it went off without a hitch.   Additional thank you to; Annette Salm for the picture printing, registration, and a great job of MC'ing the event, Pam Haufe for taking all the wonderful pictures, Kris Bergsbaken for being the starter, and Kate Candee (FDL Chapter President) for help with the pictures and scoring.

Congratulations to our Winners and Good Luck in Illinois!
